Music is an integral part of the life and worship of St. Paul’s Church. People of all ages and backgrounds are brought closer to God through music – and there are many ways to be involved in the ministry of music at St. Paul’s.
Children’s Choir: Kindergarten-3rd Grade
The K-1st graders meet and have musical activities, play Orff and percussion instruments, and learn how to read music. The 2nd and 3rd graders play handchimes and also learn how to ring our 1868 tower bells. The two groups come together to sing and provide an anthem for the 10:00 AM Ageless Worship Service on the first Sunday of each month. The Children's Choir meets in Ordway Hall (the lower parish hall) on Monday afternoons from 4:00 - 5:00 PM. This is a school year program.
Youth Choir and Handchimes
Older children (4th grade and beyond) come together to ring more advanced handchime music. Our Youth Choir sings music in parts and learns more advanced choral techniques. Tee Youth Choir meets in the sanctuary and the choir room on Monday afternoons from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. This is a school-year program.
The Adult Choir provides music for our 10:00 am service, throughout the school year. We rehearse each Sunday morning at 9:00 AM in the choir room, and at 7:00 PM on Monday evenings. Each week is a new commitment because we rehearse only the music that we are singing for that Sunday. Rehearsals are fast-paced and fun. A broad range of music from spirituals to the great choral literature of the Anglican tradition is sung. Please contact the office for more information.
