Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals PDF Print E-mail

No matter where you are on life's journey, St. Paul's is here to support you.  While we are always here for the daily joys and concerns of life, we also mark the important milestones in the church community on a regular basis.

Baptism

Often celebrated by families with babies or young children, but available to all ages, Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as children and members of Christ's Body, the Church, and inheritors of the kingdom of God.  We encourage families interested in baptism to attend regular services and join in the life of our parish.  We also ask them to attend three sessions of preparation for the baptism, during which they will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with clergy and other church families.  Please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Marriages

The blessing of two individuals who have chosen to move forward in life together is a joyous event.  Following are the guidelines that we use in assisting families with the wedding process:

The couple needs to be actively involved in the life of an Episcopal congregation prior to beginning the preparation process (usually St. Paul's), or committed to establishing involvement as a part of their preparation and married life.

Weddings cannot be scheduled to occur less than six months after the couple first meets with the priest and becomes involved with the life of the parish.

There are guidelines and some restrictions concerning service music, readings, decorations, modifications to the service, and photography and video recording.

The couple is asked to commit to a marriage preparation program which includes several meetings with a priest.

When either person has been previously divorced, the priest will need to obtain permission from the Episcopal Bishop to perform the wedding.

The Episcopal Church does perform same sex weddings.  We also will bless the marriage of couples who have had a civil ceremony previously, and will also conduct services for couples to renew their vows.  For more information, please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Funerals

St. Paul's clergy and staff are prepared to assist families with the difficult task of planning a funeral or memorial service for a loved one.  Whether a service with the Eucharist here in the church, or a simple graveside burial, there are many different options available to meet your needs.  Dates and times of funerals must be set in conversation with St. Paul's clergy.  Please contact the church directly for more information, or to set up a meeting to discuss how to proceed.  Our phone number is 224-2523.

Those without a church home will find support here, so do not hesitate to contact us to see how we can be of help to you.
