Pastoral Care

At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, pastoral care is more than responding to emergencies or visiting someone when they are ill. It is a ministry of companionship, prayer, encouragement, and presence. It is the Church walking alongside God’s people through every season of life.

Our Ministry of Presence pastoral care team helps extend this ministry beyond Sunday mornings. Team members visit parishioners who are homebound, living in nursing homes, recovering from illness, or facing difficult times. They offer prayer, conversation, Holy Communion, and, most importantly, the reminder that no one walks alone.

We also want our parish family to know that pastoral care is available whenever it is needed. If you or a loved one is hospitalized, entering a rehabilitation facility, moving into assisted living, or facing a serious illness, please let the church know as soon as possible. Hospitals do not always notify local clergy, so we depend on family members and friends to help us stay connected.

A priest or a member of the Ministry of Presence team will gladly visit, pray with you, offer Holy Communion, and simply be present with you. Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is not a solution or an answer, but our presence.
